Suge Knight was born in Compton in April 1965. His mother and father are called Maxine Dikemen and Marion Knight Senior, respectively.
His birth name is Marion Hugh Knight, junior. However, he was nicknamed Suge while he was young after a Sugar Bear.

He Lynwood high school. The school, which propelled his football career. In 1983 Suge graduated and went to El Camino College after his excellent football performance back in high school.
Knight finished college in 1985 and went to the University of Nevada, where he continued to play football and study concurrently.
Professional Football Career
Two years after joining the University of Nevada narrowly missed the NFL draft. However, that didn’t make him lose hope in football as he got an invitation to visit the training camp for the Los Angeles Rams, which played in NFL.
Suge only got two games to play for the Rams after that year’s strike by NFL players.
Suge Knight Entertainment Scene
The first entertainment jobs Knight got after football was being a bodyguard and concert promoter. He became a bodyguard for famous artists like Bobby Brown. After that, he began his music publishing company that made significant steps after Robert Van Winkle’s hit song Ice Ice Baby was published under their company’s name.
Later he started a management company for music artists. Some of the musicians that were under his company include top west coast hip-hop musicians, Tracy Lynn Curry (The D.O.C.), and David Marvin Blake (DJ Quik).
After that, Suge formed Death Row Record that signed famous musicians. However, to get the signatures of these top artists like Dr. Dre and The D.O.C. wasn’t an easy job. According to reports, Knight and his personnel had to use threats for the record labels of the two artists to surrender them willingly to his record. That way, he was able to start the record label with the help of Dr. Dre and The D.O.C.
Suge had high hopes and promised to make it the best label like its predecessors like Motown. In early 1990 his record label was able to sign a deal with Interscope, a global music distribution company.
That made Dr. Dre’s album The Chronic become a hit when it was released. The album went to get a triple Platinum status after that.
Death Row Records then signed Snoop Dogg, a famous hip-hop artist, to date. Snoop Dogg, under the label, released his first album Doggystyle that went on to get a quadruple platinum certification.
Before he signed Tupac Shakur, a legendary hip-hop musician, Knight had issues with P. Diddy, the Bad Boy record label. Suge went ahead, signing Shakur by posting his bail of $1,400,000. 2006 was the end of the famous Death Row Records. The reason behind that was Suge filed for bankruptcy. A move that was brought after Knight was supposed to pay Lydia Harris $107,000,000.
After that move, the judge decides that the record label to managed by the bankruptcy agent. The record label was then placed for bidding in 2008, and Global Music Group won the bid. However, they were not able to fund it hence Wideawake Entertainment too over the record’s operations.
Suge Knight Murder Allegations
In the late 1990s, two famous hip-hop big wigs died mysteriously. They were Tupac and Biggie Smalls. All the murders were pointed to Knight, but he was never prosecuted. Both the shootings happened in a drive-in Las Vegas but on separate days. Snoop Dogg, a former member of Death Row Records, also commented accusing his former boss of killing Tupac.
2015 was not a good year either for Knight as he was prosecuted for voluntary manslaughter after running on to two men, one Terry Carter and Cle Sloan. Terry succumbed to the injuries while Cle had leg and head injuries.
The case against Knight took a considerable turn after several attempts to get himself a lenient judgment. Nonetheless, he was imprisoned for twenty-eight years. He is currently serving his sentence at RJ Donovan correctional facility.
