Plot:
The story of the movie revolves around Sakuta Asusagawa a high schooler in Fujisawa in his second year who’s been in a relationship with his senior and famous actress Mai Sakurajima. The couple lives a peaceful life until Sakuta encounters his first love Makinohara Shouko as a middle schooler in the hospital where he goes to visit his younger sister.
The story takes a rough turn when the middle schooler shouko starts to become a part of his life and gives rise to certain arguments and insecurities between the couple. It is later found that shouko faces cardiac issues and her disease can only be cured through a heart transplant. The story continues as the couple tries to solve the problem and hit various obstacles during their journey.
They later find that the wound on Sakuta’s chest and shouko’s disease are connected as in near future the one whose heart is transplanted into shouko’s is revealed to be none other than Sakuta himself. Sakuta dies in an accident after being declared brain dead which leads to his heart being transplanted to Shouko.
After he gets to know it Sakuta agrees to what the future holds for him and doesn’t resist but Mai consistently tries to stop him from dying.
