  • Try not to ring the last apple. Center it and cut into extremely thin rounds – no thicker than 2 mm. Add to the baking sheet.
  • Put the containers in the oven and cook for 60 minutes, turning following 30 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool for some time. Place them inside an airtight container.

Make the Cinnamon Apple Cake

  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F and oil and line two 6 inch cake containers.
  • Delicately chop the thick, dried apple slices.
  • Put the flour, cinnamon, baking powder and nutmeg into a bowl and mix quickly.
  • Put the butter and sugar into a medium bowl and cream, utilizing electric blenders, until cushy and pale in shading.
  • Separate the egg yolks and whites. Add the yolks to the cake batter and put the whites into a little blending container.
  • Add the milk to the cake batter and beat until the milk and egg yolks are fused.
  • Filter the flour blend into the cake batter and, utilizing a big spoon, delicately blend everything into the cake batter.
  • Mix the sliced dried apples into the mixture.
  • Whisk the egg white to hardened peaks. Pour them into the batter gently.
  • Divide the batter between the containers filling to ⅔. Avoid filling the extra remaining batter. You can use it to make cupcakes later.
  • Bake for around 25 minutes or until the toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let the cake containers cool for around 5 minutes, and then remove the cakes from the containers. Invert the cakes gently onto a wire rack and let them cool totally before icing.

Make the Buttercream

  • Utilize a pestle and mortar to crush the salt to a powder.
  • Utilizing an electric blender, whip the butter and icing sugar together – include the icing sugar one tbsp at once.
  • Beat in the maple syrup, trailed by the powdered salt.
  • Add some more powdered salt as per your taste preference.

Assembling the Cake

  • Put one layer of the cake onto a turntable and funnel blobs of buttercream all around in circles. Fill in the center similarly – utilize less than half of the buttercream.
  • Delicately top with the rest of the layer of cake. Funnel a few blobs of buttercream onto the top and spread it out daintily to simply cover the top of the cake.
  • Pipe perfect blobs onto the top of the cake all around and once more, fill in the middle similarly.
  • With the remaining apple rings, decorate the cake by poking each into the buttercream. Sprinkle some ground cinnamon.
