5 Best ways to increase family engagement

It’s quite common to have a lack of engagement and lack of information flow between family members these days. Some of the explanations include personality clashes, traumatic events and a lot more.

There could be a lot of reasons for this situation but technology today provides unique ways for people to reconnect with each other. Can any close friends or professionals help establish connections between family members? Or should one tackle these issues on their own? You are not alone facing these questions. Almost everyone feels this way from time to time and there are several tried and true ways – tips really – to reconnect with the family members you love so much… Here are 5 best ways to engage your family members and help them contribute to your family assets.

Hint 1: Introducing the family tree.

Family tree building is a great fun activity to engage your family members and contribute to your family values. It’s a slow, quiet type of project, which allows yourself and your family members to have quality time together sitting down at the same table, digging into the past. But first, before you start planning what you will do, you should think about the items you need for this activity.

The benefits of family tree building are well documented, and you’ll see that the family tree maker can improve the overall quality of your family’s relationships, especially when you involve your entire family.

Dynasty trees are big and colorful. They can include your lineage up to your most prominent ancestor. Typically, the most recognized names in a dynasty tree represent ancestors that developed family traditions, created family legacies and founded the family name.

Hint 2: Recollecting the past.

We all have a history in our family. We inherit this history from our parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents. With due help from your dear ones and genealogical archives, this is fun and engaging!

When we talk about genealogical archives, we mean the documents that are not only stored in books but also on computers. These include birth certificates, marriage certificates, death certificates, census records and other important documents in which one can find out more about their ancestors.

We have been in this business for years now and we have worked with many people to make their family history more interesting. We believe that your past is an integral part of your present, so you should know about it.

Hint 3: Discussing family values assets.

Family values are the cornerstone of our lives. Discussing them in a calm and peaceful way is a great opportunity to reconnect and engage in lively conversations.

The family values assets are more than just something you have stored away in your mind; they are a way of life that you live out each day. The family values consist of honesty, hard work and perseverance, respect for others, self-reliance and self-control, faithfulness, loyalty to family members, love for nature and, for many, love for God.

In these times of turmoil, we must remember the importance of family, especially when it comes to raising children. We need to help our kids understand the values that will guide them through life and keep them out of trouble.

If you have children or plan on having children soon, it’s important for you to start thinking about what kind of family you want to raise. What kind of values do you want your children to learn from their parents? When you’re with family, there’s nothing better than talking about family values. It’s a great way to reconnect and engage in lively conversations.

Hint 4: Working on the legacy project.

Family legacy project is something that you leave behind, something that your parents left for you. It’s about the memories, about your roots and about the moments you shared with your dear ones.

The best way to keep the family legacy alive is to pass it down from generation to generation. It could be a family recipe or some other thing that has been passed down through generations, like a story or something else.

You can also help your children learn more about their heritage by teaching them about all the things of most value in life: family, faith and heritage. This way they will become more grounded adults who know what’s important in life.

Do you remember the first time you saw an old picture of yourself? What about hearing the story from your grandfather when he ran away from home as a teenager because he didn’t want to go to school anymore. Whatever it might be, there is something so special about knowing where these stories come from— they mean more than just words on paper or pictures in an album; they’re part of who we are today because they help us understand how our lives came together to create this moment right now.

Hint 5: Organizing a family reunion.

Family reunions are a great way to get everyone together and enjoy some quality time. They can be a little overwhelming, though, so follow some tips to help you make the most of your time with those you love:

  • Make sure everyone’s on the same page.

If you know that your uncle is going to bring up politics at every opportunity, start with something easy like sports or weather—and then move on from there.

  • Be prepared for anything!

You never know what might happen at a family reunion, so don’t take any chances: it is summer now so pack plenty of snacks, water (for yourself and for pets), extra sunscreen and bug spray (for mosquitoes), and hand sanitizer (for yourself). There are worse things than being prepared!

All in all, when you’re surrounded by your family, everything just feels right. Family reunions are a great way to spend time with your loved ones and build bonds that last a lifetime.

There are various ways in which you can overcome any resistance and manage to foster open communication in your family. One of them is being empathetic and caring towards each other, since these are the key aspects of a functional relationship. Another one is telling the truth. Since honesty is not only a virtue but a cornerstone to every good relationship.

All positive interactions at a family level can have a deep emotional impact on everyone, increasing their engagement in family processes in the long run, too! And in turn, the time you spent on that rather than fighting about petty and superfluous things will allow you to build a great relationship as well as create lasting memories for everyone.
