Despite the convenience of instant messaging, SMS still plays an important role in automatic alerts and messaging of people with older phones. If you use SMS often, you may want to check your text messages online so that you can respond faster with your computer keyboard.

Apparently, there are many ways you can view and send text messages from the comfort of your computer. Here are the best applications to check your SMS messages on a computer. Please note that all of these solutions are for Android only, unless otherwise stated.

1st: TextSanity

The users of the TextSanity app will manage to communicate easily with any size group by Text message. It will also help you create surveys to automatically interact with customers. Get Connected Now to Your Community with Mass Text Messaging App that’s perfect for influencers, businesses, or any organizations need to connect to individuals. If you have an Android device, you can download the app from here. Pick the app from here if you are an iOS user.

5 apps to view and send text messages

2nd: Google Voice (web)

Google Voice users can view their messages through the official web application. You can compose new messages and it also supports media previews. On the same page, you also have access to Google Voice phone records, voicemail, and more.

To use it, all you need to do is go to the Google Voice website on your computer, log in with your account, and you are good to go. If you are not using Google Voice yet, you can get a free number.

Unlike most of the other solutions on the list, the Google Voice web app does not require a constant phone connection as all your conversations are stored on Google’s servers. Unfortunately, Google Voice is currently limited to the United States.

3rd: Android messages

Google’s default SMS app on Android, Android Messages, also has a web client. Features a Material Design theme and a familiar two-column layout, with support for individual and group conversations.

Also, you can enable dark mode from your settings. There is an option to also receive notifications in your browser.

To get started, open the Android Messages website. Once there, launch the Messages app on your phone, and from the three-dot menu, tap Messages for web. Follow the steps to scan the code and you should be online in seconds.

In case you want to install Android Messages and you don’t have a compatible Android phone, try uploading the latest APK file to download it.

4th: Pushbullet

Besides allowing you to quickly share files and mirror notifications from your phone to a PC, Pushbullet also has a dedicated SMS card. Here you will find all your existing conversations and you can view or reply with text and multimedia content. It also supports starting new conversations.

If you did not enable SMS mirroring during the Pushbullet installation procedure, launch the application on your phone. Then swipe out from the left edge to see the navigation pane and select SMS. Enable SMS sync and you will be asked to grant the necessary permissions. Once finished, you should start.

On your computer, there are several ways to view your messages. You can download desktop applications or browser extensions or go to the Pushbullet website. Please note that you are limited to 100 messages per month unless you pay for the Pushbullet Pro plan.

5th: iMessage (iOS, Mac)

iPhone users only have one real option to view lyrics on a computer. Apple doesn’t allow alternate SMS clients, so you must use the built-in Messages app. While there are some downsides, the default messaging and SMS app offers a lot of great features. One of them is cloud syncing, which allows you to read or reply to SMS messages using the native Mac message application.

If you’re already using the Messages app but can’t see conversations from a Mac, you’ll need to enable iCloud syncing on your phone. To do this, go to Settings> [Your name]> iCloud and turn on messaging.

Unfortunately, Windows users with an iPhone don’t have an official option to check their iOS texts. Next, we will see an alternative option.

Hopefully, you get enlightened about these helpful apps after reading our informative article; stay tuned for more.
