Effective Ways to Spend Quick Breaks from Work [and Life]

Everybody deserves a break.

Sometimes in the middle of your daily course of stressful work, and long-hour of sitting on your working bench, you need to have a break.

If you are busy in your daily household chores like cleaning, doing laundry, and doing all sorts of household kinds of stuff that needs to be done, you must spend some time and consider taking a pause.

During your long-hour of driving, you may feel tired, drained, and exhausted you must find someplace and have a break. Or whatever it is that keeps you busy the entire day, give time for some break.

Taking a break sometime in the middle of what you’ve been doing is necessary for us, whether you choose to spend it alone or with your buddies. But it has become more effective if you spend it wisely and with correct actions.

This time I would like to offer my friendly proposition on how to maximize your time during your short break and how to spend it effectively for you to become more productive in the next remaining hours of your activities.

Drink a cup of coffee with bitter-sweet aroma to set the right mood

Drink a cup of coffee with bitter-sweet aroma to set the right mood

Coffee is known to improve performance and memory, making the brain work more efficiently. It helps you become more alert and as a result, fewer mistakes are made.

Coffee breaks are a perfect opportunity for everyone to get to know each other and form friendships. Understand that a short break will only last a couple of minutes unless you control your time. I may say every second count.

You have to have a better coffee maker like the best capsule coffee machine, designed for easy and quick preparation of coffee and tea without leaving a mess. The faster you prepare it, the more time left for you to perform other activities.

Alternatively, some prefer to drink tea over coffee, which is fine. Both drinks are the best choices during break time, as it’s easy to prepare and handy. Also, you might want to pair it with tacos.

Tune up your motor system

If you’re feeling drowsy and tired, do the basic arm stretching and bending. Get up and stretch your arms, sideways, upwards or cross both arms and stretch or bend them around. Stretching stimulates the veins and lets the blood run through your body system properly.

The basic breathing exercise

Getting enough fresh air is vital for everyone. If you do have plenty of time, consider going outside and perform the basic breathing exercise. The basic inhale-exhale will do. Inhale and hold your breath for about 3 seconds and exhale. This method allows yourself to feel more relaxed, and it lowers the stress in your body.

Moreover, you may try this for the exercise. Tiptoe when you inhale and then put your feet back to the ground as you exhale. When all your focus is to balance yourself, you are removing outside distractions and thoughts.

Get on your feet take some walk and have a chit chat with your colleagues.

Get on your feet take some walk and have a chit chat with your colleagues.

Socialization or getting in some face-to-face with your colleagues interrupts the boring routine. Have a little talk with them. If possible choose a topic not related to your job. Healthy conversation helps you temporarily skip the pressure from work and releases your feelings and ideas towards something.  A well-deserved break will benefit your health, spirit and performance.

Turn on the music

Sound tripping also helps. If you are a music lover, pull out your audio gears, preferably using a headset or headphones, and listen to your kind of music.

And if you want to enjoy your music without being disturbed by the unwanted sound going around you, use bluetooth noise cancelling earbuds like ReduxBuds. Noise cancelling earbuds are perfect as they eliminate the loud external noises and allow you to enjoy your music while you still are aware of your surroundings and ReduxBuds will fit all your needs as it has some outstanding features including 100-Hours battery life, Dual Beamforming Mic, Touch Controls with Digital Assistant Access. Amazing right?

(Tip: avoid using a huge and loud audio system inside your working area to avoid distracting others)

Listening to the music of your choice has surprising effects on your mood. It increases happiness, removes stress, and depression. It’ll soothe your emotions and sets your mood perfectly light and calm. Music strengthens your memory and prepares you to become more active and productive for the rest of the day.

The 5-minute power nap

The 5-minute power nap

A power nap produced few benefits in comparison with the no-nap. Naps are good for most people. Health expert’s research shows a nap can improve brain functions ranging from memory to focus and creativity.  More research shows a quick nap can lower stress and recharge your willpower.

The importance of spending breaks effectively:

Just when you thought having a quick break is just another usual routine, like most of us think, then we will have to look on different angle. The outcome, good or bad, is just the effect of how you spend your free time.

Breaks enhance productivity and creativity. Working for long stretches without breaks leads to stress and weariness. Taking short breaks refreshes and renews your mental resources, and helps you become more productive.

According to research, without taking enough breaks from work, our productivity, mental well-being, and overall work performance sart to decline. These breaks are essential in helping every individual de-stress and re-charge for the rest of the workday. Regular breaks can also help improve overall self-esteem and keep you going for the rest of the day.

It doesn’t matter how you spend your break, whether you follow the steps or do it your way for as long as you have to, and it’s a MUST.
