Early Life
Tauheed was born on the 12th of September 1977 in Tauheed Epps in College Park, Georgia. He spent his childhood getting in trouble with the legal authorities. By selling and dealing with drugs like marijuana, he was arrested with a felony of cocaine possession at the age of 15.
He observed a fond interest Basketball.
He got into Alabama University on scholarship and played for its team in 1996-97.
It can be said that he has quite the notorious flare. When asked about his college life, 2 Chainz replied that he had gotten into trouble for a while and had to leave, but he came back and graduated.
Career
For most of his musical career, 2 Chainz was known as a member of the duo Playaz Circle along with his friend Earl Conyers ( alias Dolla Boy). Together they released the album “United We Stand, United We Fall (2002)”
They soon got introduced to Ludacris who collaborated with the duo and even played some of their songs on his radio station.
He joined into label with Ludacris named ‘Disturbing The Peace’
Playaz Circle released albums together such as ‘Supply and Demand’ and ‘Duffle Bag Boy’. The latter featured Lil Wayne.
Soon Tauheed left ‘Disturbing The Peace’ to advance his music career.
He later pursued an independent career in 2012 and changed his former stage name to 2 Chainz for a more family-friendly presence.
He released his debut album ‘Based on a T.R.U story and many more.
