How to efficiently plan content for your website

After building a great website, the next step is to provide quality content. This part of the website is as important as creating a website. Imposing a website is insufficient for conversion without engaging content. Alpha Efficiency as always has the best advice to help you develop a strategic content plan that will surely contribute to your website’s success. In the further text, we will detail the framework, provide useful tips, and explain the importance of content for synchronizing your target audience and market needs with business objectives.

Creating adequate website plan content is a process that has the goal to encourage costumes to buy your product by providing attractive and relevant content. The content plan considers written copy, charts, visual elements, and downloadable files. This all might seem like an uneasy task, but with our guidance planning will be much more unchallenging, just keep reading and you will find out how.

  • Review your existing copy

Reviewing your current copy can help you determine the quality of available content. Evaluate whether your existing content is still adequate and accurate, relevant for visitors, up-to-date, and sufficient. If your website is launched long ago, there might be a possibility that it requires updating with additional and improved services and fresh content.

  • Determine your target audience

Before deciding on the content you must determine the target audience to which it will be addressed and with which the content will correspond. Identifying and understanding who you are communicating with will help you clarify and focus the content in further planning. Additionally, this will work as an expedient reminder and indicator of information relevance and necessity. Thus, it can help you in setting main and other subsidiary audiences to cover all potential customers and their individual preferences.

  • Sitemaps usage

When writing a content plan, a sitemap is some sort of technical drawing. Mark the brief page title to organize a large content quantity. Consider how many pages you need to distribute your content. This approach allows you to determine priorities and arrange content before starting to create and write detailed material.

  • Involve other participates

Consider collaboration with others to help you improve your content by asking them to review your content relevancy, grammatic, and meaningfulness. Objective feedback and opinions will help you improve the content to better represent your objectives and correlate with visitors.

  • Storytelling

By storytelling consider both “telling a story” about your business and brand, and the stories of satisfied costumes that have used your product or service. Provide evidence and testimonies from previous customers to support your brand, using informal language associated with your target audience. Concentrate on writing user-centered content that recognizes customers’ problems and addresses the solution to your product instead of focusing on touting your brand.

  • Write in a style that speaks to real people

Try not to intervene with too many keywords and terms that can consequently jeopardize content readability and sense. Keep in mind that your text should not sound like a robot and that your users are humans that expect naturalness.

By using “semantic keywords” that provide conceptually related phrases and synonyms to original keywords, you can expand the keyword diapason without sliding into meaningless content.

  • Encourage users to take action

Finish your copy with sentences that encourage and call users to take action after reading your text. Instead of ending your text with the words “thank you for reading” or “thanks for your attention”, implement phrases such as “call now”, “message us”, “buy now” or “contact us” with appropriate links that direct customers to a desirable action before they leave your website.

  • Make copy visually appealing

Most website visitors don’t read the copy entirely from the top to bottom, instead, they just scan through the text. Therefore, it’s recommended that the copy is not overcrowded with words but constructed with sufficient blank space which will provide users with a place for their eyes to rest.

Separate text in short paragraphs supported with appropriate images, graphics, testimonies, charts, quotes, or illustrations. Additionally, you can divide the copy with a sub-headline and listing. Besides these attributes, it’s important to determine the right typeface for the text, which will add to the copy`s legibility. We advise you to use a sans-serif typeface for the text body while applying the larger serif for headlines and parts you want to stand out.

  • Setting deadline

Setting deadlines will help you stay on course when creating your website content. Try to group relevant activities into categories and determine priorities. Consult stakeholders to review prepared copies and evaluate the content quality.

Content publishing schedules will be different for a weight loss clinic in Chicago and a dentist clinic, for example, depending on their topics.

Final Thoughts

Even after launching your website with solid content the work on your site doesn’t end there. Content is something that will require constant improvement and adjusting, but a quality content plan will reduce your time in making content, plus it will moderate the amount of work you will have to dedicate in the post-launching period.
