Do you know about seasonal allergies? If you are not experiencing any allergies, you are lucky, but some people are affected by allergies with seasonal changes. Several reasons contribute to these allergies, including the weaker immune system, air pollution or personal hygiene.

In this article, we discuss more about allergy relief and natural remedies to get rid of allergies without any allopathic medication. Please note that this article is not medical advice, and you should talk to your healthcare professional before implementing any prescriptions.

Following is a brief account of 6 Natural remedies in the context of allergies.

6 Natural remedies for Allergy Relief

1. NETI POTS

Have you seen something like below? It is called a neti pot. These small vessels contain saltwater and have been used in India for thousands of years. The saltwater present in such vessels is used to clear sinuses; the pollen grains can be washed away with it.

If you do not want to purchase a neti pot, you can use your cupped hand instead. Just use lukewarm water mixed with a tablespoon of salt and put this water in one nostril, and let it drain out of the other. You can also use neti pots before bedtime to prevent snoring.

2. Eating Right

If you eat food that is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, you are less likely to come across any allergies. Various studies and researches prove this fact too. A healthy diet will strengthen your immune system, and your body will naturally become strong and put good resistance against seasonal allergies.

The food options like meat, fish, walnuts, eggs, flaxseed,  chilli and mustard are a few suggestions to include in your dietary routine. Apart from that, you can use turmeric, tomatoes, onions and citrus fruits. Seasonal fruits like guava, mango, banana or papaya also contain vitamins and minerals that help strengthen your immune system.

3. Perilla

Are you suffering from severe nasal congestion or asthma? This herb from the mint family can cure your conditions right away. Perilla can alleviate serotonin levels in your brain, and you will feel more happy and relaxed after using it with no side effects at all. This herb can also be used for eye allergies, as an antidepressant and for improving mood.

4. Ginger

Have you ever used ginger in your cuisines? Ginger can also be used as an immune booster to treat coughs, colds, headaches, and sinuses. You can easily use ginger in your tea. It can also help regulate the digestive system.

5. Yarrow

This herb originating from the British Isles contains antiseptic, antiallergic, stomachic and diaphoretic qualities. It can help you clear out your respiratory tract. You can take yarrow in your tea or as tincture. Please note that you must avoid yarrow if you are allergic to ragweed.

6. Acupuncture

While discussing more about allergy relief, this particular ancient Chinese take can not be discarded. You must have seen this practice whereby you are injected with a lot of needles to help treat various conditions. It is interesting to note that acupuncture is totally natural and quite effective for the treatment of seasonal allergies as well.
