Safety is the first thing you think of before relocating. However, when you make a decision of living on the Northern side of Dakota, you should know the best options. In that regard, we have listed the safest places to live in North Dakota.

Safe Place #1: Surrey, N. Dakota

Surrey is a place where the crime rates in real estate or property are very low. It is found in Ward County and has an extremely low percentage of other kinds of violence.

Interestingly, this city offers 97% less crime and violence rate as compared to other parts of N. Dakota. To have a clear understanding, you can say that there is only one victim in every 1453 people. However, smaller crimes are recorded in 11 out of every one thousand locals. Realtors and locals suggest new people in the city choose mid of Northern Dakota because it is the safest zone in the entire Surrey.

Safe Place #2: Scranton, N. Dakota

Another safest city in North Dakota comes with 2.40 crimes with violence in every one thousand residents. However, you will notice more crime in the western side of Scranton in North Dakota. The eastern area of Scranton is safer and families can live easily here. When it comes to murders, the rate of deaths and casualties remains 0.02 in every one thousand locals (this rate is recorded on the yearly basis).

Safe Place #3: Bismarck, N. Dakota

The third safest place to live in North Dakota is Bismarck. It is a place that has the average crime rate of Dakota. But yes, sadly this place has chances in every 283 people to make you the victim. At the same time, the crime rate in property or real estate is higher than in the other cities of Dakota – one out of every thirty people becomes a victim of this crime. Thus, if you have chosen Bismarck as your next destination, buy or rent a house on the northwestern side. It is because the northwestern part doesn’t have many crimes.

Safe Place #4: Hazen, N. Dakota

Hazen is a small town in North Dakota. It is so safe that once it got rewarded “safest city of Dakota”. Interestingly, there is almost zero crime rate. You can imagine that by knowing residents hardly put a lock on their doors. Indeed, you will not see violent crime but unfortunately, Hazen is known for property crime. Another crime that is a big threat is a package theft crime. It is because the mailing and shipping systems are not monitored. The reason why Hazen doesn’t have a massive crime rate is because of its population. There are only three thousand residents in the city.

Safe Place #5: Stanley, N. Dakota

Stanley is situated in Mountrail County and it offers a far lower percentage of crime related to property. It is maybe because the population here in this city is low – approximately 1500. Yes, because of the same reason this place is categorized in the list of rural towns. Interestingly, the size of the city makes it the 19th largest place in North Dakota – this is how small towns and counties are in the North side of Dakota.

Safe Place #6: Marmarth, N. Dakota

The crime rate at Marmarth in Northern Dakota is very low. It is said that violent crime is just 2.02 for every one thousand individuals per annum. This place is safe as well as secure for all, locals aka residents and tourists. Also, there aren’t many crimes related to violence or drug (substance) use. We can’t say druggies don’t try to commit a crime! They still try but those cases are not recorded in the research and studies.

Safe Place #7: Beulah, N. Dakota

It is the last safest city in this blog but it doesn’t mean there aren’t any more such cities in the northern side of Dakota. This place has the least number of properties related crimes. In every one thousand residents, there are zero drug or violent crimes. Also, in every one thousand residents, only 6.7 people suffer or become victims of property-related crimes. These statistics were recorded in 2022.
