Let’s get ready to rumble!! Growing up, I binge-watched World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) shows like Royal Rumble, Smackdown, and Tag Team. As I’m sure most of you have. But behind this legend of a show are tenacious people working tooth and nail to bring you quality workmanship.
One such genius in the making is Dewey Francis Foley. I’m sure you are wrinkling your brows in confusion right about now. So, who is Dewey Foley?
Personal Life
Dewey Francis Foley is an actor famously known for Holy Foley! (2016), WWE Smackdown! (199), and Biography: WWE Legends (2021).
Dewey was born on 20th February 1992 to the legend Mick Foley and his wife, Collette Christie. And if you hadn’t already guessed it, the parents are notable names in the WWE wrestling industry. He was born and raised in Long Island, United States.
He has three siblings, Dewey Francis, Michael Francis “Mickey” Jr., Hughie Francis, and Noelle Margaret.
Dewey’s Career Path
If the word fan had a face, then Dewey Foley is it. Growing up in a family of WWE wrestling champions, the young lad had front row tickets to the industry. But money and connections aside, Dewey has proven to be full of creative talent. For example, he advocated for Terry Funk to be part of the most awesome wrestling promo ever made at age three.
Dewy began his career by posting his creative writing content online. And if it caught Triple H’s attention, which it did, it was unquestionably binge-worthy. Dewy later started pitching some of his ideas to the creative team, and soon after, he was hired in 2015 as a creative writer’s assistant by WWE. He joined the creative team officially in January 2016.
In 2016, Dewey appeared on an episode of “Holy Foley!” on the WWE Network alongside his father, Mick Foley. The latter was visiting the WWE HQ located in Stamford, CT.
Before moving to work backstage, Dewey Foley occasionally featured as Mr. Bootyworth in WWE SmackDown! New Day skits.
Thanks to his formidable talent, he quickly moved up the creative ladder and is said to be a creative force behind the WWE 205 Live segment. In addition, he is one of the top writers of WWE 205 Live, which airs every Friday at 10pm on the WWE Network. You can catch it immediately after watching everything go down in SmackDown that is aired on Fox.
The show has been on a forced hiatus thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic, but we hope to see more of his work soon.
In the Know…
And guess what, Dewey Foley voted for President Barack Obama. The creative star took to Twitter, gushing about how he was happy he had been part of making change. He later got a personal reply from Barack Obama, congratulating him for voting and being part of the inevitable change.
Conclusion
While Dewey Foley has received a lot of criticism for riding on his father’s curtails to achieve success, that couldn’t be farther from the truth. He has worked impeccably to establish his name in the WWE wrestling industry. And while he may not have used brawn, his brains undoubtedly did all the work.
