Olive Marie Osmond, the eighth of nine children and the only daughter of the family was born to Olive May and George Virl Osmond. She was bought up as a member of “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her brothers maintained a career show business, singing and performing on national television at an early age. It is an American variety entertainment that was aired on American Broadcasting Company from January 1975 to May 1979. The show was hosted by Donny and Marie. They were offered a weekly show by the President of ABC-TV after seeing the duo co-host on The Mike Douglas Show. Marie and Donny were the youngest entertainers in television history at that time.
Donny and Marie’s show used to be aired on Friday night. It consisted of an ice skating number intro, comedy skits, and the songs performed by them. The episode used to be concluded by a music finale and balloons falling from the ceiling matched to the colors of the sets and costumes.
On a Sunday afternoon, the show used to be aired in the UK, where it was billed as “The Osmonds”.

In 1973, Marie released her first single, “Paper Roses” which became a number one country hit. Her single was released in 1974, “In My Little Corner of the World” and an album with the same title. Both of them entered the Billboard country Top 40 in 1974.
Marie released a single on RCA Records named Who’s Counting in the year 1984. This received a significant number of plays for a few weeks and it peaked at no. 82 on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles. She made many albums during the 1980s.
In the year 1995, Osmond released only one song, “What Kind of Man (Walks On a Woman). She released the album, named “I Can Do This” which contained 14 songs. All the proceeds from this album were donated to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
