Toby Fox, an indie game developer, released a 2D role-playing game in September 2015 called Undertale. It’s a story about a kid who has fallen into the “Underground”. It is a secluded and large region under the Earth’s surface separated by a magical barrier.
During the journey back to Earth, the main character meets a lot of monsters. A couple of monsters may engage the protagonist in a fight. The player can opt to subdue or pacify monsters to spare them rather than killing them. The choice of the player greatly affects the game. The characters and dialogues start to change depending on the result.
In October 2018, Fox released the first chapter of the game called Deltarune. For those who don’t know, Deltarune is just an anagram for Undertale. However, Fox said that the game isn’t Undertale. It only resembles it.
Deltarune obtained positive and critical reviews. Since the release of the first chapter, fans across the globe are eagerly waiting for the second chapter. While there isn’t any word about Deltarune Chapter 2, Fox has hinted in March 2020 about the second installment of the game.
For years, fans have been extremely eager and excited to explore more of the world of Deltarune. The first chapter expanded a lot in the Undertale universe. Today, fans expect that the second chapter will do the same.
Is It the Final Chapter?
A lot of fans are asking if chapter 2 is the final chapter of Deltarune. However, the answer is no. It isn’t the last chapter. According to reports, Deltarune and Deltarune Chapter 2 as a whole are treated as separate units. This implies that there will be more than 2 chapters for the story.
As of now, nobody knows how many chapters Deltarune will have. However, Fox has finished the outline of events of every single chapter. He is also done outlining the first draft of every cutscene dialogue.

Plot
Toby Fox has recently shown several new screenshots on his Twitter account of the new city in Chapter 2. Based on those screenshots, we can tell fans will face a lot of new enemies in the game. The gameplay of chapter 2 of Deltarune will almost be the same as the first chapter. It will feature turn-based combat, aside from bullet hell. For a better experience for the players, Fox decided to get rid of the random encounter system. This was perhaps one of the best features in Undertale.
According to Fox in an interview, chapter 2 of the game will have new characters. The protagonists are also living new lives. Players should expect a new story in the second chapter.
That is why there are a lot of things fans should expect in the second installment of the game. According to developers, they’re incorporating a lot of various tricks and attacks to improve player experience.
Deltarune Chapter 2 will have more complex gameplay compared to Undertale. It will include a lot of puzzles and bullet-hell segments. Another thing to point out is that players can now easily observe the enemies in the field during battle.
Release Date
According to the developers, the second chapter of the game will be released by the end of 2021. However, this could not work out for several reasons. In addition to that, Fox has said that chapter 2 isn’t taking a lot of time when compared to the first chapter. For those who don’t know, Deltarune Chapter 1 started its development 8 years before the release.
Fans should expect that Deltarune Chapter 2 will be out possibly by the end of 2021. However, you can ensure that the development of the second chapter is going smoothly. Fans need to be patient.

Fans might not be happy to know about this update, especially since one of the biggest features of Undertale is having several endings.
