Carmela Sievers was born in 2007; she is now 15 years old. She has one sister, Josephine Sievers. Many may identify her from the case of the brutal murder of Doctor Teresa Sievers, her mother.
Her aunt Dawn had sent her a spray for her blond hair and a mermaid book for her ninth birthday. When word of Carmela’s father’s detention broke around Christmastime, she did the same. Dawn stated that she wanted the girls to feel like children despite the situation.

The Death of her mother.
In June 2015, the death of Dr. Teresa Sievers shocked the state of Florida, and the specifics of her death are examined in an episode of ’48 Hours.’ This show, which has received numerous awards for its meticulous investigation and well-presented presentation, delves deep to truly understand what happened. The doctor was married to Mark Sievers and was a well-known holistic medicine physician. They also had two children together.
Sadly, their mother was brutally murdered in the family home in Bonita Springs in June 2005. They were 11 and 8 years old, respectively. Teresa had been bludgeoned to death with a hammer by two guys, and her lifeless body was discovered in the kitchen when Mark summoned a friend to check on her.
Jimmy Ray Rodgers and Curtis Wayne Wright had broken into their home, shut off the alarm system, gone to a neighboring Walmart to get some goods, and then returned to the address to commit the murder. News reports stated shortly after their arrests that Wright and their father had been best friends since high school and had grown up together in Missouri. Their father was soon arrested as well. Mark was apparently concerned that Teresa would separate his children from him, and he believed that killing her was his only option.
The Department of Children and Families had placed them with another family in the region while they screened the people who offered to look after the children after their mother was killed in homicide and their father was arrested for it.
Their grandmother is given custody
Teresa’s mother, Mary Ann Groves, sought temporary custody of her granddaughters (during Siever’s incarceration). She said the two had experienced severe psychological and emotional stress as a result of the events. On May 16, 2016, she was granted custody of the children. A judge denied Mark’s mother Bonnie’s plea for interim custody to be transferred to her.
