Cycling routes in Singapore are fun and well-maintained so there is no need to worry about cycling accidents. There are different cycling routes in Singapore that cater to beginners, intermediates, and even professional cycling hobbyists. The following are some of the best cycling routes in Singapore;

1. East Coast Park

East Coast Park is the largest park in Singapore, spanning over 40 kilometers of cycling paths. It is popular among cyclists looking for a relaxed ride along the coastline.

While you rest at the variety of beaches available, you can also enjoy food, drinks or even book some spa or massage services. The park has separate lanes for different types of bicycles so it is really easy to navigate so no need to worry about safety.

2. Mount Faber Loop

Located just 26 km away from the city center, Mount Faber Loop offers incredible views that are often obscured by high-rise buildings and skyscrapers outside Singapore’s central business district (CBD). This wide 12km stretch around Marina Bay including Gardens by The Bay comprises specially marked cycling paths perfect for family cycling.

3. MacRitchie Reservoir

MacRitchie Reservoir Park offers a variety of outdoor activities from walking trails, canopy walkways to an aerial trail for those looking to get closer to nature. This park is fairly easy and suitable for novice cyclists as the terrain is smooth and slightly sloping upwards with little or no sharp corners or steep slopes.

4. Jurong East

Jurong Lake is a huge park located in the heart of Jurong. It has a cycling path that circles around the entire lake and it also connects to two other parks, namely Chinese Garden and Japanese Garden. This route is perfect for those who want a long ride as it is about 8km long.

5. Bukit Timah Nature Reserve

Bukit Timah Nature Reserve is Singapore’s first ASEAN Heritage Park and it is unsurprisingly popular with nature enthusiasts and hikers alike.

Bukit Timah Nature Reserve

The cycling path within the reserve winds through some of the most pristine rainforests in Singapore so cyclists can expect a challenging but rewarding ride. The entrance to the reserve is also easily accessible via transport so no need for a car!

6. Marina Coastal Expressway (MCE)

The MCE cycling path stretches over 5km in length and runs adjacent to the expressway. So cyclists can expect to see some pretty impressive city skylines along this stretch but be aware that there are no railings here so riders should proceed with caution! There are pedestrian crossings at different parts of the path so cyclists do not need to worry about the safety of pedestrians.

7. Telok Blangah Hill

Telok Blangah Hill is located in Bukit Timah and it offers a challenging climb up steep slopes and hairpin turns but the views of Singapore from the top are pretty spectacular! This route is mostly for those who want a tough workout as you can expect some steep inclines along this 20km stretch that takes an average of 2 hours to complete.

These are just some of the best cycling routes in Singapore that cater to all levels of cyclists. So if you are looking for a challenging but rewarding ride, be sure to check out these routes!
