Her father originally known as Robert Edward Crane was a well renown American actor. He was also playing drums, a radio host, and a great disk jockey on a popular CBS comedy Hogan’s Heroes. He must have been skilled and talented in playing drums because he began at the age of 11. His career as a radio host kicked off first in New York City before proceeding to Connecticut. Later, he moved to Los Angeles, where he became famous through a morning show which had many listeners.
In 1960’s, acting seemed the best option for him. In pursuit to be the best, he eventually got the main role of Colonel Robert Hogan in Hogan’s Heroes. His achievements were well recognized through the two Emmy Award nominations he received between 1965 to 1971 when the known series was been aired.
Immediately the series of Hogan’s Heroes ended, the career of Crane went collapsing. Frustrations dawned on him and started receiving few roles. He was forced to seek alternative means of survival. It was in pursuit of income where he found himself appearing in dinner theatres. He later decided to return back to the Bob crane show. Unfortunately, the show had very poor rating and was immediately cancelled within the first 13 weeks of its commencement. Crane had to option but to return to presenting in dinner theatres. He also became an occasional guest on most of the television shows.
Crane was brutally murdered in his Scottsdale, Arizona apartment. Prior to his death, he was on a tour in one of the dinner theatre productions of Beginner’s Luck.
Crane was the youngest son. He was raised by his both parents; Alfred Thomas Crane and Rose Mary Ksenich Crane. He was born in Waterbury, Connecticut. Crane as young child grew up in Stamford. He later joined Stamford High School and graduated in 1946.
In 1949, he found the love of his life- Anne Terzian and tied the knot. They were blessed with three children; Deborah Anne, Karen Leslie, and Robert David Crane.
