A celebration that’s truly out of this world!
Acclaimed astronaut Buzz Aldrin commemorated his 93rd birthday by walking down the aisle with his longtime partner, 63-year-old Anka Fauer.
Aldrin, immortalized as the second man to land on the moon after Neil Armstrong, shared this joyous news on Twitter. The couple pledged their vows in a private ceremony tucked away in Los Angeles, California.
“On my 93rd birthday & the day I will also be honored by Living Legends of Aviation, I am excited to announce that my dear partner, Dr. Anca Fauer, and I have exchanged our wedding vows,” the NASA stalwart tweeted.
“We solemnized our union in a small, private ceremony in Los Angeles, feeling the exhilaration akin to eloping teenagers.”
The tweet was supplemented by two photographs from their intimate ceremony, featuring the newly christened Mrs. Aldrin in a charming white gown sprinkled with rhinestones.
On his part, Aldrin sported a sleek appearance in a black suit, accessorized with a bow tie.

Aldrin’s Previous Marriages
This isn’t Aldrin’s inaugural venture into matrimony.
Previously, Aldrin embraced wedlock three times. His first wife was Joan Archer, whom he married in 1954 and with whom he parented three children – James, Janice, and Andrew. Unfortunately, their marriage dissolved in divorce in 1974.
In 1975, Beverly Van Zile became Aldrin’s second wife, but their union ended after a short span of three years.
Fast forward a decade, and Aldrin found love once again with his third wife, Lois Driggs Cannon. After sharing 24 years of marriage, they decided to part ways in 2012.
Aldrin’s Astronomical Feats
Aldrin’s remarkable career as an astronaut propelled him into the limelight. His achievements include three spacewalks during his illustrious tenure.
Serving as the Lunar Module Eagle pilot for the groundbreaking Apollo 11 mission in 1969, Aldrin spent 19 unforgettable minutes on the lunar surface alongside Armstrong.
Currently, Aldrin stands as the last surviving astronaut from the trio that participated in the Apollo 11 mission. He bid adieu to his astronaut career in 1971.
