How to Prepare for a Promotional Exhibition

So, you now have your products packed, branded, and ready. You have done the work, and all you need now is exposure to tell the world you are ready to give your service.

It is time to showcase your work. Preparing for an exhibition takes planning. You may need to gather contacts to set up a venue and handle some logistics.

One those who need an outlet to prote a service are artists.

Artists as Profession and the Need for Promotion

Artists often would begin with simple and free promotions. You might think of your family and friends to say the word. You hope that word of mouth and social media that will back you up in your endeavor.

But it is not all that simple.

If you are starting to venture into a business, you should join trade fairs to promote your brand. One way is to set up a booth.

A booth is simple, and you can rent a small space in a mall strip. Next is to figure out what to include in your exhibition.

Things to consider when setting up a booth

Art exhibitions and promotional displays are now the things that artists rely on when turning their hobbies into the hustle. And to set this up, there are a few things you need.

First, you need a stylized stand to hang and present your art and brand name. A professionally made display stands like those in Tecna UK can assist small entrepreneurs in coming up with this marketing tool.

Location

The first thing you need to secure is a location. Not because you can land one means, you have to stick with it. Think about the setting from your audience’s point of view.

Will it be difficult for them to find the place? Does it take hours to get to it? Is it close to the city center?

You need to answer these questions before you finalize a contract with a hotel, gallery, etc.

Maximizing The Space

That brings us to the second point. You need to maximize the space for your exhibit. How can you do this part? The first thing to do is determine what you will be showing in the setting. Will you be setting up paintings and framed photographs? Or will you showcase busts, sculptures, and other artisan products? Or will you display only a few selected pieces that can take up a lot of space?

You can also employ a specialist who deals with these kinds of things. The only drawback is you need to pay them for the service.

 Things of Art and Crafts

We are not talking about your glue, pens, paper, or arts and crafts materials. You need to prepare your finished art products for your audience to see.

It is not wise to bring half-finished paintings or sculptures for display. Not every person will appreciate what we call “work-in-progress” pieces.

Bring what you want to showcase for your exhibit only.

The Theme

Speaking of art, you need to stick to a concept or theme for your upcoming exhibit. Choose one that resonates with many of your artworks and crafty products.

It might be challenging for your audience to figure out things if you don’t have a theme or concept. You can opt for a “chaotic” exhibit where anything goes. However, you need to select a specific market or audience for that.

Time Frame

Let your target audience know of the project’s overall time frame. That allows these individuals to adjust their schedules so they can visit. Setting your exhibit time frame also allows random people to check out what you have during their spare time.

Your Socials

Do not forget to include means for you to share your socials during the event. Make sure to take some calling cards, social media links, and other ways for people to contact you.

The Takeaway

Having an art exhibit is a milestone any artist would want to accomplish. However, it takes research, resources, and other aspects to make it all happen. That is why you need to figure everything out before you make the launch. Doing so guarantees a fun and hassle-free art exhibit for you and your audience.
