6 Essential Wedding Planning Tips and Tricks

Gearing yourself and your partner for a wedding requires many preparations—not just for the wedding itself but also for one’s psyche. Things may overwhelm you along the process and will eat so much of your time. With all the details you have to think about—from the marriage banns from your locality to wedding packages in Quezon City, that is if you are going to wed in the city, forgetting some important stuff is inevitable.

To help you with that, here are wedding planning tips and hacks to help prepare your bid day. Learn more for here.

Wedding prep tips and tricks

1) Get a reliable catering service

Though there are many wedding catering packages to choose the best catering company in London, you have to get one that is reliable and trustworthy. Hire a provider ready to answer your queries and give you the best option. A pro tip is to know your limitations, including time and budget constraints.

Another essential tip is not to skip food tasting even if you plan on hiring the same caterer you had before. Food tasting hints at what it would be like on your wedding day. The most important question is: Will your guests enjoy your food if you get this caterer? Of course, decide with your partner because he or someone from his family might have food restrictions that you need to discuss with the caterer. You need to know if they can accommodate your requests or not.

2) Ask about guests’ food and other allergies

In line with the statement above, it would not take much of your time to know if your visitors have allergies, particularly to food. If you know them well enough, then it saves effort. But if not, a quick chat or call will do to check if they have some food restrictions. It is also an excellent way to build rapport with them because you are concerned with their health and diet.

Note that allergies are not just to food. If you have any decorations that you think can trigger one’s allergies, maybe you need to consider some alternatives to it as well.

3) Conduct ocular or venue visits

You must not skip conducting an ocular from the wedding venue down to the reception. For emphasis, you have to make time—not just find time—for everything you need to arrange for your wedding, including ensuring that the venue you are eyeing could be dressed however you want.

You should notice a few things in every venue you visit, such as the area, lighting, ventilation, and entrance and exit points. These points should be checked to have an idea of how the venue should be decorated as well as to see if it’s conventional to use props such as wedding sparklers, smoke machines, and the like.

You can also ask if there are rooms readily available where you can set up a place where kids can play or perhaps, other entourage members can rest.

4) Secure marriage license and other vital documents

If you think you don’t have to prepare any files before your wedding date, surprise! You must get your marriage license a few weeks before the big day. Aside from such, there are other necessary documents like certificates of non-marriage (CENOMAR). In addition, you must obtain other documentary requirements if you marry in a church. Plus, you have to attend some seminars as well.

While at it, you need to remember when to get these documents. A marriage license, for example, has a validity period of 120 days, whereas CENOMAR has 60 days.

5) Finalize the wedding attire and dress code

Wedding dresses should be the least of your worries. As such, the wedding gown and suit should be finalized at least a couple of weeks before the date.

Aside from the attire of the soon-to-be-wedded couple, you want to ensure that your would-be guests know the dress code. This should also be informed ahead of time so that they can find clothes that suit the wedding motif.

6) Send out formal invitations

Usually, information about wedding dress codes is written on the invitation. So do not forget to send out the invites—these are different from your save-the-dates.

In this digital age, there are many ways to do this, more so if you want to contribute to saving Mother Earth by having a paperless wedding. Of course, nothing beats giving out formal invitations, especially if done personally. This also gives a personal touch to your wedding, making your guests feel that you are anticipating their presence on your special day.

No amount of preparation and to-do lists can make you 100% ready. However, you and your special someone should be prepped up for whatever will come your way—on your big day. Things may get stressful and overwhelming, but remember that everything will all be worth it, so do not sweat the petty stuff.

Nevertheless, reading some books and guides might also help you and your partner. You may also watch some videos and blog posts online to get a feel of what a wedding looks like and what will transpire that day. But of course, your wedding will differ from those you have watched or read. Therefore, it is best to keep your expectations realistic.
